Ac128 transistor8/15/2023 Denis Cornell explains that the first Fuzz Face before the NKT had another transistor, the AC128.<' they all worked in a very similar way and all did the job, but they give a slightly different tone. ![]() It can be substituted though because, well, its gone and people want to buy and also sell MkI Tonebenders. It is common opinion that the first transistor used in Fuzz Face was the NKT275 by Newmarket but it is not true. In this project, we will focus on a simple & low-cost transistor-based circuit with a high-power loudspeaker, which can be used for home security & as a warning system against intruders. If you guys really want to freak out about transistors you should get into some MKI tonebenders, the OG first stage transistor is just gone. Januby Munnaza Malik 13,161 views Simple Siren circuits are an important part of electronic security devices nowadays. My favorite Sun Faces were the TK/UK and the BC183. I cant tell you what will mimic a white dot NKT but I can tell you that its not something to obsess about. Thing is that its reality and based on the posts above me I wouldnt be surprised if I get 11 alerts that Ive been quoted by displeased readers. But when it comes to buying old high quality tubes during the time period people used tubes commonly so they were built to withstand use beyond a guitar amp, thats kind of out of the question.ĭoes anyone understand this? is everyone angry? I hope not. Too expensive, takes balls to spend thousands on glass but if it comes to exclusivity on Fuzz Face transistors this is the place to be because your $25-75 is pretty easy to justify. I wonder if everyone in this thread buys NOS tubes for their guitar amps. ![]() By this time nobody will even remember that the AC128 was in the poopoo 90s Fuzz Faces. People will buy them and then other people will buy them and then people will want to know if their AC128 sounds like the NKT that costs 595 on ebay. Id almost guarantee the AC128 will be an option before too long. Its almost as if people simply want to choose their transistor and then pretend they have something special. Then they bought high gains, red dots, Ti/UKs, now the CV7005. To some people that is the best sound ever because analogman has a really convincing write up about it they bought their Sunfaces when it was a $25 option. You wont find anything that sounds like the white dot NKT because you need a white dot NKT to get that sound. You gotta do research and a lot of testing. He has an ear for the Fuzz Face because he has a lot of experience with vintage ones. So basically this ends up as yes Analogman makes a great FF, the best thing about it is the fuzz trimmer and the build quality. The gist of the Fuzz Face remains in the simple circuit that uses eleven components (2 transistors, 4 resistors, 3 caps and 2 pots) and the astonishing tones created with them delivering a soft asymmetrical clipping that changes to hard clipping in both semi-cycles under the fuzz pot action. Why not make a pedal overseas when you can sell that to people on the KoT waiting list and then also sell them a KoT. ac128 transistor suppliers - Select 2021 high quality ac128 transistor products in best price from certified ac128 transistor manufacturers, suppliers. I think now theres probably enough people that have had their fill of buying Tonebenders and would call that out immediately as "wtf." Out of spec AC128 transistor will be measured to be within the following gain range: Less than 50hfe Transistors include their measured values (leakage/hfe). ![]() I got it, posted about it in the fuzz thread, watched my wording very carefully and sold it. Since I had bought about 25 pedals from him I got one by simply asking for it in an email. So he would make a batch of like five Sunbenders for $290 and sell them to his repeat customers. Initially, I tried an AC128 for the first transistor, but although it worked, the output transistor was not biassed correctly. On TGP you could have gotten banned at the time for calling that out. Theres simply no other explanation for it. NPN germanium alloy transistor intended as low power amplifier in AF applications.Īlso made by Philips and related manufacturing plants.I remember when Analogman made the Sunbender and the marketing along with it was something like "we A/Bd the 2 transistor the 3 transistor and found they almost sounded the same so we went with the two transistor." In reality he did that so he could sell more pedals because they sure as hell dont sound like one another.
